Bloomburrow Commander Deck: Squirreled Away
Bloomburrow Commander Deck: Squirreled Away
Free pickup in Maastricht, by appointment. How it works
Never underestimate the power of a squirrel. Let alone two hundred. The Squirreled Away Commander Deck turns the smallest residents of Valley into a token machine that grows faster as the game progresses.
Hazel of the Rootbloom heads this black-green deck full of Squirrels, Food, Treasure, and other tokens. Use your tokens as mana, sacrifice them for value, and have Hazel copy your best token at each end step. Choose a Squirrel? Then you don't get one, but two. What starts with a few forest dwellers can therefore surprisingly quickly turn into a complete plague.
Why choose Squirreled Away?
- Squirrels. Lots and lots of squirrels: Cards like Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Deep Forest Hermit, Squirrel Nest, Chitterspitter, and Squirrel Sovereign help fill the forest in no time.
- Hazel doubles your supply: Every end step, Hazel copies a token you control. If it's a Squirrel, she makes two copies instead.
- Tokens become mana: Hazel can use your untapped tokens to produce X mana in any color combination, so a wide board also helps pay for your next big spell.
- Food, Treasure, and more: The deck doesn't just make creature tokens. Food, Treasure, and other tokens can also become part of your value engine.
- Sacrifice yields value: Skullclamp, Deadly Dispute, Morbid Opportunist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Moldervine Reclamation ensure that even dying tokens continue to do their job.
- Known Squirrel favorites: Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Toski, Bearer of Secrets are included right in the list, alongside ten cards that were new to Magic with Bloomburrow.
