Foundations Commander Deck: Wretched Ranks

One body in. An entire army out. The Wretched Ranks Foundations Commander Deck introduces you to one of Magic's most iconic strategies: creating Zombies, sacrificing creatures, and ultimately overwhelming your opponents with an ever-growing undead army.

Ghoulcaller Gisa makes the plan delightfully clear. Sacrifice one of your creatures and Gisa turns its power into a group of 2/2 Zombie tokens. This way, one strong creature can suddenly transform into several new threats — exactly the kind of dark value that mono-black is known for.

Why choose Wretched Ranks?

• Beginner friendly: The plan is clear: build up Zombies and use your creatures as resources to create even more value.
• Create a Zombie horde: Ghoulcaller Gisa can turn one creature into multiple 2/2 Zombie tokens.
• Creatures are meant to die: In this deck, losing a creature doesn't have to be a disadvantage — it can actually be part of your strategy.
• Overwhelm with numbers: Once your Zombie army becomes large enough, it gets increasingly difficult for opponents to stop every attacker.
• Mono-Black: One color keeps the mana simple while you learn to handle sacrifice, tokens, and graveyard-focused gameplay.
• Ready to play out of the box: The complete 100-card Commander list is already in the box.
