At Witherbloom, death is not an end — it is simply the next ingredient. The Witherbloom Pestilence Commander Deck lets you sacrifice creatures for cards, life, and ever-growing threats.
Dina, Essence Brewer turns every well-timed sacrifice into extra card advantage and can sacrifice creatures herself to generate life and +1/+1 counters. Gorma, the Gullet opts for an even more aggressive approach: every creature that dies makes Gorma larger and ensures that subsequent creatures enter the battlefield with extra counters.

Why choose Witherbloom Pestilence?
- Sacrifice with direct reward: Dina lets you draw a card once per turn when you sacrifice a creature.
- Value on every turn: Because Dina's draw ability works per turn and not just during your own turn, it pays off to sacrifice creatures during opponents' turns as well.
- Life gain & counters: Dina can sacrifice another creature to gain life and strengthen a creature with an equal number of +1/+1 counters.
- Gorma grows with the graveyard: Every death gives Gorma a counter, and creatures that enter afterward can start even larger.
- Plenty of sacrifice material: Pests, Saprolings, Worms, Spawn, and other cheap creatures give you enough resources for the engine.
- 39 creatures: This is the most creature-heavy deck of the five and contains well-known cards such as Blood Artist, Ophiomancer, Tendershoot Dryad, Ohran Frostfang, and Beledros Witherbloom.
The cycle of life and death
Dina, Essence Brewer
Face Commander · Black / Green
Dina turns sacrifices into new cards and can sacrifice a creature herself to simultaneously gain life and strengthen a creature. This keeps even your smallest tokens relevant resources.
Gorma, the Gullet
Featured Commander · Black / Green
Gorma gets a +1/+1 counter whenever another creature of yours dies. Nontoken creatures that enter afterward also receive an extra counter for every creature that has already died under your control that turn.
