Bring three different powers together and let your coven grow ever stronger. Coven Counters is a green-white Commander Deck built around Leinore, Autumn Sovereign, +1/+1 counters, Humans, and cleverly building up creatures with different powers.

This ready-to-play Commander Deck from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt revolves around the Harvesttide Festival and the humans gathering to withstand the encroaching darkness of Innistrad. Leinore strengthens one of your creatures each combat and rewards you with extra cards once you have achieved coven.

Leinore, Autumn Sovereign

Leinore, Autumn Sovereign is a green-white Human Noble and the face commander of the deck. Her ability helps you adjust the power of your creatures with +1/+1 counters every turn.

For coven, you need at least three creatures that all have different powers. Important: Leinore does not need to have coven active yet in order to place a +1/+1 counter. You place the counter first, and only then is it checked whether you control three different powers to be allowed to draw a card.

Counters with a purpose

Coven Counters does not just use +1/+1 counters to make creatures bigger. They also help you to consciously vary the power on your battlefield to keep coven active.

Cards like Abzan Falconer, Ainok Bond-Kin, Champion of Lambholt, Inspiring Call, and Verdurous Gearhulk give you extra reasons to distribute counters across your battlefield.

Kyler and the Human plan

Kyler, Sigardian Emissary offers a second clear direction within the deck. Each other Human that enters the battlefield under your control places a +1/+1 counter on Kyler. Your other Humans then get +1/+1 for each counter on him.

The deck contains many Humans, including Moorland Rescuer, Heronblade Elite, Sigardian Zealot, Somberwald Sage, Odric, Master Tactician, and Herald of War. This allows you to build a distinct Human synergy in addition to Leinore's coven plan.

Build a battlefield that keeps growing

Coven Counters wants to get multiple creatures onto the table and continue developing them throughout the game. Sigarda, Heron's Grace supports your Human plan, while cards like Victory's Envoy, Juniper Order Ranger, and Death's Presence can generate extra counters.

At the same time, the deck contains sufficient interaction and utility. Swords to Plowshares, Beast Within, Return to Dust, and Cleansing Nova give you answers when opponents execute their own plans more quickly.
