The Wasteland has no shortage of leaders. Caesar just intends to ensure that only one remains in the end. The Hail, Caesar Commander Deck builds armies, sacrifices soldiers for the greater good, and turns every attack into a choice between even more troops, new cards, or direct damage.

Caesar, Legion's Emperor leads this red-white-black deck in which creature tokens serve as both your army and your resource. Attack, sacrifice one of your creatures, and choose two different benefits. You can immediately send extra Soldiers onto the battlefield attacking, draw a new card, or have Caesar deal damage based on the number of creature tokens you control. The larger your army becomes, the more dangerous every decision becomes.

Why choose Hail, Caesar?

  • Build a complete army: Soldiers, Warriors, Robots, and other creature tokens constantly provide you with new bodies to attack with or sacrifice.
  • Every attack gives Caesar choices: Sacrifice a creature and choose two from extra Soldiers, card draw, or direct damage.
  • Tokens are more than just attackers: Skullclamp, Pitiless Plunderer, Morbid Opportunist, and Bastion of Remembrance make the loss of your own creatures valuable.
  • 37 cards were new to Magic: Hail, Caesar is packed with Fallout characters, factions, Vaults, and events specifically designed as Magic cards for this release.
  • Military finishers: Assemble the Legion, Fervent Charge, Martial Coup, and Ruinous Ultimatum can transform a small army into total dominance.
  • Mr. House gives you a second deck direction: If you choose him as your commander, the deck shifts toward dice rolls, Robots, and Treasures.

The Legion always needs more soldiers

Caesar, Legion's Emperor
Face Commander · Red / White / Black
Whenever you attack, you may sacrifice another creature. If you do, choose two effects: create two 1/1 Soldier creature tokens that are tapped and attacking; draw a card and lose 1 life; or have Caesar deal damage to an opponent equal to the number of creature tokens you control.
Mr. House, President and CEO
Featured Commander · Red / White / Black
Mr. House prefers probability over brute military force. Any roll of 4 or higher can net you a 3/3 Robot, and a result of 6 or higher adds Treasure as well. His own ability lets you roll multiple d6s when you use Treasure mana to activate him.
Every Soldier is a resource
Hail, Caesar wants to create creatures, attack with them, and sacrifice them when necessary. Your army doesn't have to stay on the board forever to be valuable: a small token can activate Caesar, generate Treasure, draw a card, and trigger death effects along the way.
