Hour of Devastation: Booster Box
Free pickup in Maastricht, by appointment. How it works
The God-Pharaoh has returned — and Amonkhet proves never to have been the world its inhabitants were promised. The Hour of Devastation Booster Box contains 36 boosters from the devastating finale of the Amonkhet block, in which Nicol Bolas returns and the five glorious trials give way to ruin.
Every booster contains 15 Magic cards and is suitable for Draft, Sealed, or collecting. In addition to mechanics like Eternalize, Afflict, and Exert, Hour of Devastation also offers the extremely slim chance of opening one of the final 24 Amonkhet Invocations from the Masterpiece Series.
Open Gods of Destruction, Eternalized warriors, and the final series of Amonkhet Invocations as Nicol Bolas reveals his true plan for Amonkhet.
The Hour of Devastation has arrived
While Amonkhet was all about the five trials and the promised return of the God-Pharaoh, Hour of Devastation shows what that return truly means. Nicol Bolas returns to Naktamun and the carefully constructed world begins to fall apart.
This shift is also visible in the cards. The set retains various concepts from Amonkhet, but adds new mechanics that align much more darkly with the story.

Eternalize & Afflict
Eternalize builds on Embalm from Amonkhet. A creature with Eternalize can be activated from your graveyard and returns as a black 4/4 Zombie token copy. This ensures your graveyard remains relevant later in the game.
Afflict makes blocking particularly unpleasant. When a creature with Afflict is blocked, the defending player loses the indicated amount of life. Not blocking means risking combat damage; blocking can still cost you life.
Exert also returns from Amonkhet, allowing creatures to gain extra power or an additional effect during combat in exchange for skipping their next normal untap step.
Amonkhet Invocations
The full Amonkhet Invocations series consists of 54 premium cards. The first 30 appeared in Amonkhet; the remaining 24 Invocations can be found in Hour of Devastation boosters.
Invocations use their own highly stylized frame and appear as premium foil. They are extremely rare, and any specific Invocation is, of course, never guaranteed.
