Modern Horizons: Booster Box
Modern Horizons: Booster Box
Free pickup in Maastricht, by appointment. How it works
Modern Horizons did something no other normal Magic set had done before: skipping Standard entirely and designing straight for Modern. This Booster Box contains 36 boosters with new cards, reprints that became Modern-legal for the first time, and a complete Limited environment full of callbacks to Magic's past.
Every booster contains 15 game cards, including one rare or mythic rare and one full-art Snow-Covered basic land. The set also features a comprehensive mix of returning mechanics and a series of 54 collectible art cards.
36 boosters with a mix of all-new cards and reprints that became Modern-legal for the first time with Modern Horizons — without first going through Standard.
The first direct-to-Modern set
Modern Horizons was developed specifically for players who wanted to see more design freedom and older mechanics than a regular Standard set normally allows.
This allowed Wizards to combine dozens of returning mechanics with entirely new cards while simultaneously reintroducing older cards into Modern.
36 boosters per box
15 game cards per booster
1 rare or mythic rare per booster
1 full-art Snow-Covered basic land per booster
254 cards in the regular booster set
Snow returns
Modern Horizons brought back the five Snow-Covered basic lands in a full-art version. Snow is not just present visually: the set contains various cards and Draft strategies that actually revolve around snow permanents and snow mana.
The basic land slot in every booster is therefore relevant during Draft and is not automatically to be discarded like in many other sets.
A set full of returning mechanics
Modern Horizons uses an exceptionally large number of existing Magic mechanics. Among others, Changeling, Cycling, Snow, Flashback, Kicker, Retrace, Replicate and various other familiar mechanics return in new combinations.
This makes the Limited format content-richer than an average set and especially interesting for players who are already familiar with different generations of Magic.
