The Hobbit: Prerelease Pack

Your own prerelease, whenever it suits you. The official The Hobbit Prerelease events have come to an end, but that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the experience. This Prerelease Pack gives you exactly what every participant at such an event received: everything to build a 40-card sealed deck by yourself or with a friend, and play right away.

You open six Play Boosters, sort by color, and build a deck around two colors from them. No deckbuilding experience is required — this is exactly the format with which thousands of players worldwide get their first introduction to a new set. Invite a friend, grab a pack each, and recreate your own prerelease evening at home.

What’s in the box?

Each Play Booster contains 1 to 3 cards of rarity rare or higher, 3 to 5 uncommons, 7 to 9 commons, 1 land card, and is guaranteed to contain 1 foil card of random rarity.

Five color pairs, five strategies

The Hobbit revolves around five two-color archetypes, each based on one of the armies from the climax of the story: white-blue revolves around drawing cards, black-red around Amass and sacrificing, black-green around large wolves, red-white around artifacts and legends, and green-blue around landfall. Sort your six boosters and see which color combination provides the strongest cards — that will determine your deck.
