Innistrad: Crimson Vow - Commander Deck: Vampiric Bloodline
Make your opponents bleed, collect Blood tokens and send huge Vampires straight into battle. Vampiric Bloodline is a complete black-red Commander deck from Innistrad: Crimson Vow, led by Strefan, Maurer Progenitor.
The deck revolves around Vampires, life loss and making Blood tokens. Strefan then uses those Blood tokens to put powerful Vampires from your hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. That makes Vampiric Bloodline a mix of classic Vampire synergy and a clear Commander strategy that's playable straight out of the box.
A complete 100-card Commander deck led by Strefan, Maurer Progenitor, with a big selection of Vampires that profit from combat, life loss, Blood tokens and Vampire tribal synergy.
Strefan, Maurer Progenitor
Strefan, Maurer Progenitor is the heart of the deck. At the beginning of your end step, he creates a Blood token for each player who lost life that turn.
Whenever Strefan attacks, you can sacrifice two Blood tokens to put a Vampire from your hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking . On top of that, that Vampire gains indestructible until end of turn.
So you don't always have to cast big Vampires for their normal mana cost. Cards like Butcher of Malakir, Necropolis Regent, Nirkana Revenant and Vampiric Dragon can join the fight much earlier thanks to Strefan.
Commander: Strefan, Maurer Progenitor
Colors: black / red
Strategy: Vampires, Blood tokens & combat
Deck size: 100 cards
New cards: 15 new-to-Magic Commander cards
Make everyone lose life
Strefan doesn't just care about combat damage you deal yourself: every opponent who loses life during your turn helps you make Blood tokens. That's why cards that hit multiple opponents work especially well with this commander.
Sanctum Seeker for example makes each opponent lose life whenever your Vampires attack, while Falkenrath Noble and Blood Artist profit whenever creatures die. That way the deck can generate Blood without relying solely on one big attacking creature.
Blood tokens are more than discard
Normally, Blood tokens can be sacrificed to discard a card and draw a new one. In Vampiric Bloodline they also get a second important job: they're the fuel for Strefan's attack trigger.
That's why the deck includes several cards that create extra Blood or benefit from it. Arterial Alchemy, Glass-Cast Heart and Bloodtithe Harvester help you keep enough Blood available, while Strefan turns that supply into big attacking Vampires.
Vampiric Bloodline contains a broad selection of Vampires from various earlier Magic sets. Cards like Cordial Vampire, Stromkirk Captain, Rakish Heir and Bloodlord of Vaasgoth strengthen your Vampire board, while heavier threats can take over the game later on.
New cards and familiar Vampire reprints
Like the other Innistrad: Crimson Vow Commander decks, Vampiric Bloodline contains 15 cards that were new to Magic with this Commander release. These include cards that tie in specifically with Vampires, Blood tokens and multiplayer Commander.
At the same time, the deck contains well-known reprints like Blood Artist, Vampire Nighthawk, Champion of Dusk, Anowon, the Ruin Sage, Vandalblast, Blasphemous Act and Sol Ring. So you get both new Commander cards and proven staples for a Rakdos Vampire strategy.
Ready for Commander right away
You get a full deck of 100 playing cards, so you don't need to add any singles before you can start. The deck includes mana ramp, card draw, removal, board wipes, Vampire synergy and 37 lands.
That makes Vampiric Bloodline a great fit for players who want to play a complete Vampire deck right away, while also giving you a clear foundation to tweak later with your own Vampires or other Rakdos Commander cards.
