Why build one fantastic machine when you can temporarily make another one during every attack? The Creative Energy Commander Deck puts Magic's Energy mechanic into high gear with artifacts, creature copies, and Satya, Aetherflux Genius at the helm of an inventive Jeskai engine.
Every time Satya attacks, he creates a tapped and attacking copy of another non-token creature you control and gives you two Energy counters. Normally, that copy disappears at the end of the turn, but if you pay Energy equal to its mana value, it gets to stay. This way, you don't just use Energy as a resource — you use it to literally multiply your best creatures.
Why choose Creative Energy?
- Energy as a real resource: Build up Energy counters and decide for yourself when to spend them on copies, abilities, and powerful payoffs.
- Satya copies your best creatures: Every attack can send a temporary copy of another non-token creature directly onto the battlefield, tapped and attacking.
- Enters-abilities again: Copy a creature with a strong enters-the-battlefield ability, for example, and benefit again as soon as the token appears.
- Energy classics: Aetherworks Marvel, Gonti's Aether Heart, Lightning Runner, Aethersquall Ancient, and Aetherstorm Roc are included right in the list.
- Artifacts and tokens: With 23 artifacts and cards like Myr Battlesphere, Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, and Whirler Virtuoso, the deck has multiple overlapping engines.
- 15 new Commander cards: The two mythic commanders and 13 additional rares made their Magic debut with Modern Horizons 3.
