The foundations of Magic
Familiar faces. Timeless Magic.
Magic: The Gathering Foundations brings together new cards and beloved classics from across the Multiverse. Planeswalkers, dragons, angels, vampires, and other recognizable staples of Magic come together here in one accessible and surprisingly deep set.
Past, present & future
Foundations consciously looks in two directions: back at familiar cards, mechanics, and characters from Magic's history, and forward with new cards designed to remain part of the game for years to come. The set primarily uses returning mechanics, such as Flashback, rather than introducing a series of new keywords.
For collectors: five colors in foil.
Borderless rares and mythics are also available as
Mana Foil, featuring the five mana symbols across the card.
In addition, Foundations includes
Japan Showcase cards and
Special Guests that bring back showcase styles from older Magic sets.
