⚡ In short
- 2026 is an exceptionally busy Magic year with seven sets — something new every six weeks on average.
- Three in-universe sets (Lorwyn Eclipsed, Secrets of Strixhaven, Reality Fracture) and four Universes Beyond crossovers (TMNT, Marvel, The Hobbit, Star Trek).
- Next release: Marvel Super Heroes on June 26.
- Reality Fracture (October 2) concludes the three-year storyline.
- According to Wizards, this pace is an outlier — the number of releases will decrease from 2027.
It's hard to keep up with everything this year. With seven full-fledged sets in 2026, releases are coming out at a rapid pace. To help you keep track (and know where to focus your pre-orders), we've listed the entire calendar below — what's already out, and what's yet to come.
The 2026 release calendar
Return to Lorwyn — now merged with Shadowmoor. Full of double-faced cards that transform back and forth between light and dark, and lots of Kindred for Commander.
The first crossover of the year dives into the sewers for four pizza-eating turtles. Light-hearted, thematic, and a bullseye for casual tables.
Back to the magical school Strixhaven, with the return of the beloved Mystical Archive bonus sheet. Became one of the best-selling in-universe sets ever.
The big Marvel crossover: Iron Man, Doctor Doom, Scarlet Witch, and dozens of heroes and villains. Four Commander decks, a Beginner Box, and new mechanics. Prerelease from June 19 — read our complete overview.
Back to Middle-earth, this time with Bilbo's adventure. Featuring a magnificent golden Smaug as the headliner and a special Scene Box to assemble the whole party.
The grand finale of the three-year storyline. A "what if?" version of the Multiverse full of mirrored legends. Comes with five mono-color Foundations Commander Decks perfect for new players.
The year concludes in space: a crossover for Star Trek's 60th anniversary. After Edge of Eternities, even a spaceship can now be your commander.
Seven sets — isn't that a lot?
In short: yes. Four of the seven sets are Universes Beyond crossovers, and that high pace causes a lot of discussion about costs and "product fatigue". Good news for those who want to catch their breath: Wizards has confirmed that 2026 is an outlier and that the number of releases will decrease from 2027. You don't have to buy everything anyway — choose the sets that suit YOUR decks and playstyle. You can read more about this in our article "Has Magic become too expensive?".
💡 SpellArmory Tip: pre-orders are often your best friend for hype sets. You secure your stock at a fair price before scalpers strike — especially with Universes Beyond releases that sell out quickly. Keep an eye on our pre-order page.
