For the Legion of Dusk, blood is not a price to be paid. It is an investment. The Blood Rites Commander deck builds an army of Vampires, sends them into battle, and often makes their deaths more valuable than their lives.
Clavileño, First of the Blessed turns one of your Vampires into a Demon every time you attack. If that blessed Vampire dies later, you draw a card and create a tapped 4/3 white and black Vampire Demon with flying. Together with sacrifice outlets and death triggers, this creates a deck where creatures come, die, and constantly leave something new behind.

Why choose Blood Rites?
- Vampires get stronger by dying: Clavileño gives an attacking Vampire a death trigger that provides both card draw and a new 4/3 flying Vampire Demon.
- Classic aristocrats synergy: Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, Falkenrath Noble, Viscera Seer, and Yahenni turn sacrifices and dying creatures into advantage.

Whenever you attack, choose an attacking Vampire that isn't a Demon. It becomes a Demon in addition to its other types and gains a new death trigger: when it dies, draw a card and create a tapped 4/3 white and black Vampire Demon creature token with flying.

Whenever a player sacrifices a permanent, put a +1/+1 counter on Carmen and you gain 1 life. Whenever she attacks, you may return a permanent card from your graveyard to the battlefield with mana value less than or equal to her power. The more that is sacrificed, the larger her reanimation targets become.
Sacrifice is no loss if you get paid for it
Blood Rites doesn't want creatures to just die. It tries to get multiple effects out of every death: a card draw from Clavileño, damage via Blood Artist, counters on Cordial Vampire, mana via Master of Dark Rites, or ultimately a new Vampire Demon.
